Celebrating the incredible success stories of 2025, every milestone is a testament to the hard work, heart, and dedication of our students and staff.
At Connect Academy, student growth is not just a goal, it’s a journey shaped by individualized support, deep collaboration, and an unwavering belief in every child’s potential. Across our campuses, we’ve witnessed remarkable transformations this year. These stories serve as a powerful reminder of what can happen when the right environment, dedicated staff, and student-centered strategies come together.

Connect Academy Main: From Crisis to Confidence
At Main Campus, one student’s transformation stood out as a defining success of the school year. When the student first arrived, their day was often marked by high-magnitude crisis behaviors.

Through a coordinated, all-hands-on-deck approach, staff members, from teachers and paraprofessionals to clinicians and support staff, rallied together. They held regular check-ins, adapted plans, and maintained a consistent, compassionate presence. Over time, those efforts paid off.

Today, this student enters the building with calm, confidence, and a readiness to learn, a positive shift from where they began. As Site Administrator Mollie Marshall shared, this transformation was rooted in a unified mindset:
“Everyone remained committed, positive, and flexible. We celebrated small wins together and leaned on each other when things got tough. That unified front not only helped the student succeed but also strengthened the relationships among the team.”

It’s a shining example of how meaningful progress often begins with a belief that change is possible and the commitment to walk that path together.

Connect Academy East: Unlocking Engagement Through Individualization
At Connect Academy East, one student was struggling to connect with academic content. The path forward wasn’t found in a textbook, it came through truly knowing the student and what makes them tick. By tapping into topics that aligned with the student’s interests, staff were able to re-engage them in learning. With targeted support and ongoing encouragement, they began to thrive.

“They are now doing extremely well, and we are very proud of them,” said Peggy McDermott, Site Administrator for Connect Academy East.

What made this success even more powerful was how the entire team, and the student’s family, rallied behind them. Collaborative efforts didn’t stop at the classroom door. Staff worked closely with family members to ensure consistency and reinforcement at home, creating a wraparound system of support.

This story underscores a core belief at Connect Academy: academic growth happens best when we meet students where they are and bring families into the process every step of the way.

Connect Academy Early Childhood: Progress Rooted in Connection
At Connect Academy Early Childhood, success is measured in milestones, both big and small. For many of our youngest learners, even walking into a new classroom can be a big step. But with a nurturing environment and team-driven support, these steps have quickly turned into strides.

“All of our Early Childhood students have shown remarkable growth since joining Connect,” shared Jessica Burkoth. “They've steadily met their individual goals, or are making consistent progress toward them.”
The Early Childhood team works in seamless coordination to ensure every child’s emotional, behavioral, and developmental needs are met. In a setting that’s fast-paced and deeply individualized, collaboration isn’t optional, it’s essential.

“Our young learners are highly active, making teamwork essential to ensure their safety while also tailoring learning activities to meet each child’s individual developmental needs.”

The results are evident not just in data, but in the joy students bring to the classroom. Many of them now arrive eager to learn, some even wishing they could stay longer.

Why These Stories Matter
What unites each of these stories is not just progress, but the how. At Connect Academy, growth is never accidental. It’s the result of deep listening, thoughtful planning, and the belief that every student, no matter their starting point, can succeed with the right support in place.

These success stories are just a glimpse into the work happening every day across our campuses. They reflect our mission in action: individualized education, therapeutic support, and a team approach to helping students thrive.

We’re incredibly proud of our students and grateful for the staff who continue to show up, collaborate, and care deeply. The impact of their work is written in each student’s growth and that’s something worth celebrating. Want to learn more about how districts can refer students to Connect Academy?
