Together in Thanks: Reflecting on Our First Annual Food Drive

Students and staff from Connect Academy joined forces to collect and organize food donations for our first Thanksgiving Food Drive, an incredible community effort!

As November draws to a close, we’re filled with gratitude for the incredible generosity and teamwork shown during Connect Academy’s first annual Thanksgiving Food Drive. What began as a simple call to support families in our community grew into a meaningful, all-campus effort that truly captured the spirit of the season.

From November 11–21, students, staff, and families across all three Connect Academy campuses came together to donate, organize, and deliver a tremendous collection of food items. Classrooms discussed what it means to give back, staff coordinated drop-offs, and our hallways were filled with boxes of kindness.
Thanks to these efforts, we were able to:

• Provide Thanksgiving meal kits to four Connect Academy families, offering comfort and care during the holiday.
• Make a significant donation to the Interfaith Food Pantry in Carol Stream. The volunteers were overwhelmed by the amount of food we delivered and expressed deep appreciation for Connect Academy’s generosity.

This drive was more than just a collection, it was a community in action. It reflected the values we hold at the heart of Connect Academy: compassion, connection, and care for one another.

We’re already looking forward to continuing this new tradition next year. In the meantime, thank you to everyone who made this possible. Your support made a real difference.
