As the holiday season approaches, all of us at Connect Academy are excited to celebrate the hard work and growth our students have achieved this year. Winter break is a wonderful time for students, families, and staff to recharge, spend time with loved ones, and enjoy the festive season.

This year, all three of our Connect Academy campuses—Main, East, and Early Childhood—will observe winter break from December 23 through January 3. The last day of classes before the break will be Friday, December 20, and students will return to school on Monday, January 6.

What Winter Break Means for Our Community

Winter break is more than just time off; it’s a chance for students and families to reflect on progress made during the school year so far. Whether your child is attending Connect Academy Main, East, or Early Childhood, this time of rest and renewal is essential to supporting their ongoing academic and social-emotional growth.

For many of our students, the structure and routines provided at school are a cornerstone of their success. While we know transitions can be challenging, we encourage families to maintain routines as much as possible during the break, creating opportunities for students to stay engaged with learning and skill-building activities in a relaxed, holiday-spirited way.

Tips for a Meaningful Winter Break

Here are some ideas to make the most of the holiday break:

  • Maintain Familiar Routines: Establish daily schedules for meals, playtime, and bedtime to help your child feel secure and calm during the break.
  • Celebrate Achievements: Take time to recognize your child’s progress so far this school year and set fun, achievable goals for the new year.
  • Get Creative: Engage in hands-on activities like crafting, cooking, or decorating that support fine motor skills and spark creativity.
  • Stay Active: Head outside for winter walks, build a snowman, or have a family game night to foster social and physical development.
  • Practice Gratitude: Encourage your child to reflect on things they’re thankful for, fostering emotional growth and a positive mindset.

Looking Ahead to January

We are thrilled to welcome students back on January 6, refreshed and ready to embark on the next chapter of their academic and personal journeys. Our team will return with renewed energy to continue providing the individualized support and therapeutic programming that make Connect Academy a special place for every student.

Thank you for being part of our Connect Academy family. We wish you and your loved ones a joyful holiday season and a bright start to the new year!
