Our referral process is designed to be straightforward and efficient. Districts can reach out to our admissions team directly to begin the conversation. From there, we review the student's records, IEP, and individual needs, identify the best program fit, and coordinate with your team to facilitate a smooth transition. We move quickly because we know timing matters for students and districts alike. Collaboration is at the core of everything we do. Our team works closely with district special education staff throughout the entire placement — from the initial referral through ongoing IEP meetings, progress reporting, and transition planning. You will always have a direct point of contact at The Connect Academy, and we make it a priority to keep your team informed, involved, and confident in the placement. We provide regular, structured progress updates aligned to each student's IEP goals and the expectations of their home district. Our team participates actively in IEP meetings and maintains open lines of communication with district staff throughout the placement. Our goal is to make sure you always have the information you need to feel confident in the outcomes we are delivering for your students. Yes. All Connect Academy programs are fully approved by the Illinois State Board of Education and meet the highest standards for special education and therapeutic day services. Districts can feel confident that placements at The Connect Academy satisfy all applicable regulatory requirements. Reintegration planning begins from day one. Our team works collaboratively with districts and families to monitor progress, set transition benchmarks, and coordinate a smooth return to the home school environment when a student is ready. We believe a successful transition is the ultimate measure of our work — and we take that responsibility seriously. Tuition is billed directly to the student's home school district in accordance with applicable Illinois special education funding guidelines. Our administrative team works closely with district business offices to ensure a clear, straightforward billing process. Pathways worked closely with our district while two students from our district were placed at Pathways. The Pathways team communicated and collaborated so well throughout the entire process with regard to the students' progress and data on behaviors. Pathways wrapped their support around parents throughout this process. When it was time to transition the students back to the district, Pathways helped initiate these conversations and worked closely with our district to implement a thoughtful transition back to the district that was centered on student needs.
